SBU Exposes Russian Agent Directing Strikes On Kyiv

(MENAFN- UkrinForm) According to Ukrinform, the SB reported this.

The suspect is a security guard at one of Kyiv's universities, the agency notes.

Investigators established that he was recruited through his sister, who lives in Russia. Through her, he transmitted coordinates of designated targets to Russia's Main Directorate of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation.

The SBU said the man monitored the aftermath of Russian attacks in Kyiv in order to help adjust follow-up strikes. Priority targets included thermal power plants and other critical energy infrastructure in the capital.

It was documented that he moved around the city, tracked the results of Russian strikes, marked their geolocations on Google Maps, and photographed damaged sites.

According to the SBU, he also collected information about the locations of reserve command posts and military positions of Ukraine's Defense Forces in the Donetsk region, gathering intelligence by discreetly questioning acquaintances.

Counterintelligence officers detained the suspect at his place of residence in the Kyiv region.

During the search, a smartphone containing evidence of cooperation with Russia was seized.

As reported by Ukrinform, the SBU detained two more Russian FSB agents who were directing air strikes on the Kyiv and Zaporizhzhia regions.
