Report Claims UAE Launches Secret Attacks on Iran Amid Ongoing War

(MENAFN) According to reports, the United Arab Emirates has allegedly been conducting covert military operations against Iran amid the ongoing US-Israeli conflict, marking a significant and previously unreported escalation in regional hostilities.

Sources cited in the report claim that one of the key targets was a refinery located on Iran’s Lavan Island. The facility was reportedly struck in early April, around the same period when a ceasefire involving Iran was expected to be announced by US President Donald Trump. The attack is said to have caused a major fire and temporarily shut down the refinery.

In response, Iran reportedly carried out retaliatory strikes using ballistic missiles and drones directed at both the UAE and Kuwait. Some sources indicated that the United States quietly viewed the UAE’s involvement in the conflict favorably.

The report further claims that Iran has carried out a large number of attacks against the UAE, allegedly more than any other country, including Israel, with figures cited at over 2,800 missile and drone strikes targeting Emirati territory.

According to unnamed Gulf officials referenced in the report, these attacks have had a noticeable economic impact on the UAE, contributing to layoffs and workforce reductions.

They also reportedly led to a shift in the country’s strategic outlook, with Iran increasingly viewed as a destabilizing actor threatening the UAE’s economic model, which relies heavily on expatriate labor and its reputation for stability and security.
