Erdogan Voices Support for UAE Security Amid Regional Tensions

(MENAFN) Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan reaffirmed Ankara's unconditional support for the sovereignty and security of the United Arab Emirates on Saturday, speaking by phone with UAE President Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan as regional tensions continued to simmer.

During the call, Erdogan conveyed his hopes for a rapid recovery from the damage wrought by the ongoing regional conflict, while the two leaders exchanged views on the state of bilateral ties and the broader regional and global landscape, Türkiye's Communications Directorate reported via the Turkish social media platform NSosyal.

Erdogan underscored Ankara's commitment to deepening cooperation with Abu Dhabi across key sectors, singling out trade, energy, and security as priority areas for expanded engagement.

Addressing the escalating US-Iran conflict directly, the Turkish president described the trajectory of regional events as deeply troubling, and confirmed that Ankara is actively conducting diplomatic outreach with relevant parties in an effort to facilitate a negotiated resolution between Washington and Tehran.

He further stressed that the path to addressing the region's compounding security challenges lay in sustained dialogue and strengthened multilateral cooperation, the directorate added.
