China Calls For Full Ceasefire As Middle East Tensions Deepen
China has called for a full and lasting ceasefire in the Middle East, warning that the region has entered a critical phase as tensions continue to rise.
In a statement published on Friday, a spokesperson for China's foreign ministry said Beijing is maintaining contact with parties involved in the crisis, including Israel, at different diplomatic levels.
The ministry said China supports political and diplomatic efforts to resolve disputes and stressed that reducing tensions would help preserve stability across the Gulf and the broader Middle East.
Beijing added that prospects for peace now depend largely on the decisions and actions of the countries directly involved in the conflict.
China has increasingly expanded its diplomatic role in the Middle East in recent years, positioning itself as a supporter of dialogue and regional stability.
Beijing has maintained close economic and political relations with several countries in the region, including Iran and Gulf states, while repeatedly opposing military escalation and unilateral sanctions.
