Türkiye Emerges as UAE's Fifth-Largest Non-Oil Trading Partner

(MENAFN) Türkiye has emerged as the UAE's fifth-largest non-oil trading partner worldwide after bilateral trade surged to $45.2 billion in 2025, UAE Foreign Trade Minister Thani bin Ahmed Al Zeyoudi announced Friday.

Al Zeyoudi delivered the announcement at the UAE-Türkiye Business Forum in Istanbul, hosted by Türkiye's Foreign Economic Relations Board (DEIK), underscoring a rapidly deepening economic relationship between the two nations.

The non-oil trade volume expanded 15.5% year-on-year — nearly tripling figures recorded just three years prior in 2022 — marking one of the most significant bilateral trade accelerations in the region.

The minister pointed to the Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (CEPA), which took effect on Sept. 1, 2023, as a catalyst that effectively doubled non-oil intra-trade values since its implementation.

Credit for the record-breaking performance was attributed to the strategic alliance between the two governments and sustained leadership commitment on both sides. Over the past three years, UAE President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan and Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan have maintained frequent high-level engagements, reinforcing the diplomatic foundations underpinning the economic gains.

Al Zeyoudi also paid tribute to Istanbul's symbolic and strategic significance, describing the city as a historic crossroads bridging East and West within the global economic landscape.
