- Postdoctoral Research Associate, Faculty of Science, University of Sydney
Renske Jongen is a Postdoctoral Research Associate at the University of Sydney, where she studies how microbial communities mediate seagrass and macroalgal responses to environmental stressors such as warming and nutrient enrichment. Her research combines field experiments, aquaria studies and molecular tools to understand microbial drivers of marine host performance.
Renske holds a BSc and MSc in Environmental Biology from Utrecht University and completed her PhD at the University of Sydney on the role of belowground microbes in seagrass responses to environmental stress. Her previous work includes research on terrestrial plant-soil feedbacks and ecosystem restoration at the Netherlands Institute of Ecology and climate change impacts on fish behavior at the University of Adelaide.
