Iran's Speaker Ghalibaf Says 'Not Even Started' In Hormuz Standoff
Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf said a“new equation” is emerging in the Strait of Hormuz, warning that Iran's actions are still at an early stage as regional tensions increase.
In a statement, Ghalibaf said maritime security and energy flows are under threat due to actions by the United States and its allies, adding that the situation could become“unbearable” for Washington.
Meanwhile, Donald Trump warned that Iran's oil sector could face serious challenges, citing storage limits and technical risks that may disrupt production and damage reservoirs.
Trump reiterated that Iran would not be allowed to obtain nuclear weapons, maintaining a firm position as Washington considers further measures against Tehran.
The developments follow recent strikes linked to Iran that targeted an energy facility in the United Arab Emirates, raising concerns about wider escalation.
Iran's Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi said military action would not resolve the crisis and warned that United States involvement could deepen the conflict.
The Strait of Hormuz carries a large share of global oil supplies, making it a critical route for international trade and energy security.
Recent tensions have included threats to shipping, military build up and limited diplomatic progress between Washington and Tehran.
Analysts say both sides are increasing pressure while avoiding direct conflict, but risks remain high due to continued incidents and strong rhetoric. They warn that attacks on energy infrastructure and rising tensions could affect global markets and increase the risk of further escalation.
The situation remains unstable, with diplomacy ongoing but uncertain as regional and global actors call for restraint.
