Allyson E. Gold is a Professor of Law and Director of the Medical-Legal Partnership (MLP) Clinic at Wake Forest Law, a partnership between Wake Forest Law, Wake Forest Medicine, Legal Aid of North Carolina, and the Downtown Health Plaza, an outpatient clinic of NC Baptist Hospital. The MLP Clinic teaches students to respond holistically and strategically to address health-harming legal needs.

Professor Gold entered the legal profession after working to help low-income tenants overcome barriers to housing stability in Washington, DC. In recognition of her dedication to serving the public interest, she was awarded the ABA Commission on Homelessness and Poverty John J. Curtin Justice Fund Award, Prior to joining Wake Forest University, Professor Gold taught at the University of Alabama. While teaching in the Loyola University Chicago School of Law Health Justice Project, the clinic was recognized as medical-legal partnership of the year by the National Center for Medical-Legal Partnership as well as earned the 2018 Clinical Legal Education Association award for best case or project.

Professor Gold's scholarship analyzes the nexus between property law, health disparities, and health equity. Her work has been published in Cornell Law Review, William & Mary Law Review, North Carolina Law Review, Washington Law Review, Yale Journal of Health Law, Policy & Ethics, and Harvard Law & Policy Review, among others. She received her JD with Honors from Emory University School of Law and her BA with High Distinction from the University of Virginia.
