Bihar: Security Forces Bust Gun Factory In Munger
Four accused individuals were arrested during the joint operation.
The incident falls under the jurisdiction of the Mufassil Police Station in the district.
Acting on a confidential tip-off, the police team carried out a raid at the location on Friday evening.
To reach the site, officials crossed the Ganges by boat from Maniyarchak Ghat, highlighting the remote and concealed nature of the illegal operation.
During the raid, four individuals were apprehended. The arrested accused have been identified as Md. Sarfaraz alias Langda and Md. Atiq, both residents of Mirzapur Bardah, along with Prakash Singh alias Prakash Bind and Vikas Kumar, residents of Reta village under the Harinmar police station area of Munger.
A significant cache of arms and manufacturing equipment was recovered from the spot.
Seized items include two finished pistols, three semi-finished pistols, seven live cartridges, four base machines, and a hand drill machine, along with other tools used in the illegal production of weapons.
Mufassil SHO Vipin Kumar Singh confirmed that an FIR has been registered against all four accused. They were produced in the district court on Saturday, and all of them have been sent to judicial custody.
Police officials stated that further investigation is underway to uncover the broader network behind the illegal arms factory and to trace its supply chain and connections.
Earlier, on April 16, the district police had busted an illegal mini gun factory within the jurisdiction of the Kasim Bazar police station in Munger.
A large quantity of semi-finished and finished weapons was recovered from this factory, which was operating inside a house in Koyri Tola, Puranganj, in the district.
