Amman, April 20 (Petra) -- The Public Security Directorate said no cases of child abduction by strangers have been recorded in Jordan, dismissing circulating claims as false and misleading.
A spokesperson said reports shared on social media about alleged child kidnappings are inaccurate and contribute to public concern without basis.
He added that authorities are reviewing videos circulating online showing a woman accused of abducting children, noting that such claims were published without verification.
No complaints of missing or abducted children have been recorded in the area referenced in the footage, the spokesperson said, adding that individuals who shared the videos will be summoned to clarify the circumstances.
He urged the public to rely on official sources for information and avoid sharing unverified content to prevent the spread of rumors and unnecessary panic.
The spokesperson said the Public Security Directorate will continue to provide updates on issues affecting public safety and address any developments transparently.
