Ukraine Claims Strike on Russian Defense Facility in Taganrog

(MENAFN) According to reports, Ukraine has claimed that its forces carried out an overnight strike on a defense-related industrial site in southwestern Russia, triggering a fire and causing damage at the facility.

The Ukrainian General Staff stated that the targeted site was involved in the design, production, and testing of unmanned aerial vehicles, including reconnaissance and strike drones, as well as related components. Officials argued that the strike was intended to reduce Russia’s drone production capacity and limit its ability to carry out attacks on Ukrainian territory.

It was also reported that additional operations were conducted against multiple logistics and storage locations in areas under Russian control, including depots, fuel facilities, and ammunition storage sites across several regions.

On the Russian side, regional authorities confirmed that an overnight strike hit the city of Taganrog, resulting in injuries and damage to commercial infrastructure. A fire was reported at warehouse facilities following the incident, as stated by regional officials.

The developments come amid continued cross-border attacks between the two sides, with both Ukraine and Russia reporting strikes on military-linked infrastructure and logistical targets.
