Hayleys Solar Completes 800Kw Rooftop Project For LSEG Sri Lanka
The project was delivered within two months and spans six buildings, featuring 1,412 high-efficiency solar panels. It is expected to generate approximately 1,250 MWh of clean energy annually, meeting nearly 80% of LSEG's daytime electricity requirements while significantly reducing reliance on conventional energy sources.
The installation is projected to cut carbon emissions by around 850 tonnes per year, equivalent to removing nearly 185 petrol-powered vehicles from the road annually or planting more than 14,000 mature trees, underscoring its strong environmental impact.
The project involved complex engineering work, including extensive underground cabling across an active corporate site. Despite these challenges, Hayleys Solar completed the installation with a zero-accident record, maintaining strict safety and operational standards throughout the project lifecycle.
Commenting on the achievement, Hayleys Solar Executive Director and CEO Roshane Perera said partnerships with ESG-focused organisations are essential in accelerating Sri Lanka's transition to sustainable energy. He noted that the project reflects Hayleys Solar's commitment to delivering reliable, sustainable solutions that help businesses reduce their carbon footprint and compete globally.
LSEG Group Director and Site Lead – Malabe, Feroz Cader, said the collaboration marks a significant step in the company's sustainability journey, highlighting LSEG's continued commitment to environmental responsibility across its global operations.
