Türkiye Sends Medical Supplies to Iran
(MENAFN) Three aid-laden trucks carrying critical medical cargo from Türkiye crossed into Iran on Wednesday through the Gurbulak Border Gate in the eastern Agri province, marking a concrete humanitarian gesture amid the region's escalating crisis.
The consignment comprised an array of medical essentials — including medicines, serum, consumables, medical devices, stretchers, and oxygen tanks — gathered from health institutions across multiple provinces, with Van serving as the primary collection hub. The effort was coordinated and dispatched under the supervision of the Van Provincial Health Directorate.
The convoy departed Van and completed the roughly five-hour overland journey to the Gurbulak Border Gate in the Dogubayazit district of Agri province before clearing official customs and border procedures.
The trucks subsequently crossed into Iranian territory through the gate, delivering the supplies to the neighboring country.
The delivery underscores Türkiye's role as a frontline humanitarian corridor to Iran, leveraging its geographic proximity and established border infrastructure to channel urgently needed medical resources as conditions across the border continue to deteriorate.
