PM Condemns Attacks In Iran FM Call, Pushes For Diplomacy
HE the Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim al-Thani received a phone call from Iranian Minister of Foreign Affairs Abbas Araghchi.
They discussed the developments of the current escalation and its repercussions on regional security and stability.
The prime minister voiced Qatar's condemnation of Iran's continued targeting of Qatar and the countries of the region, stressing that this escalation toward countries that have distanced themselves from the war represents tampering with the security of the region and disregard for its stability.
He also stressed that targeting civilian infrastructure and the resources of peoples is unacceptable and condemned behaviour from any party and under any circumstances, urging for respect for international law by all parties and sparing peoples the consequences of conflicts.
HE the PM emphasised that a comprehensive and lasting diplomatic solution remains the only option for resolving the crisis, in a way that achieves security and stability and spares the region further tension and escalation.
