(MENAFN- AsiaNet News)

A man from Bengaluru described how he saw a woman enter at an airport in a wheelchair, only to later stand up and walk smoothly in heels within the lounge. The post, shared on X by Sumit Ramani, who runs an actuarial consulting firm, talked about what he observed while sitting in an airport lounge. He wrote,“Sitting in an airport lounge, I watched a lady (possibly in her early 60s) arrive in a wheelchair, assisted by airline staff. The moment she was inside, she stood up with ease, walked across the floor in her reasonably high heels, and returned with a generously loaded plate of food.”

This makes sense if1. The service was paid for. I am not too sure of it. But yes, it is possible.2. A medical condition that prevents an individual from walking long distances but not short ones. At least some comments to this post suggest so

He added,“I am trying very hard not to judge,” leaving the interpretation open while prompting discussion.

How Did Social Media React?

The post garnered a lot of popularity, with individuals sharing their perspectives on the matter. Some said it pointed to a larger concern with how certain airport services were exploited.

"Airports really should just sell a VIP ushering around service like Disney does," one person said, offering an organised option.

Another remarked, "People are misusing the free wheelchair service as a substitute for Meet and Greet Service primarily because that is costly and very few are aware of it," implying a potential gap between paid services and knowledge.

At the same time, several users advised caution, pointing out that mobility concerns were not always persistent or evident, and that a single instant may not convey the entire context.
