Adani Ports Surpasses 500 Million Tonnes Cargo Milestone, Eyes 1B By 2030
Adani Ports and Special Economic Zone Ltd. (APSEZ) has officially surpassed the landmark milestone of handling 500 million tonnes of cargo, according to a company media release issued on Wednesday.
The milestone serves as a primary indicator of the scale and execution pace within India's infrastructure sector. While the company took 16 years to reach its initial 100 million tonnes, every subsequent 100 million tonnes has been added at an accelerated rate. This trend reflects the increasing operational discipline and strategic depth of the platform, which now provides a clear line of sight toward a larger target of handling 1 billion tonnes by the year 2030.
A Gateway to National Confidence
"Ports are not merely gateways for trade, they are gateways to national confidence, competitiveness and destiny," said Gautam Adani, Chairman of the Adani Group. "I am grateful to our customers, partners, and every member of the APSEZ family whose dedication and belief have made this milestone possible. I also extend my sincere appreciation to the Central and State Governments whose policy and commitment to infrastructure have helped create the foundation on which APSEZ has grown."
Addressing the long-term strategy of the firm, Adani stated, "APSEZ crossing 500 million tonnes is a signal of our decades-long confidence in the India growth story. Over the years, we have built not just ports, but an unparalleled interconnected transport and logistics platform spanning ports, rail, roads, trucking, warehouses, and cargo gateways. APSEZ's best is ahead of us. And the best of India is ahead of her."
An Unparalleled Integrated Network
The current integrated network includes 15 ports across 11,000 kilometers of India's coastline and four international ports positioned on the strategic East-West global corridor. Beyond maritime operations, the logistics arm of the company now covers 95 per cent of India's hinterland.
Expansive Logistics and Storage
This infrastructure is supported by 12 multimodal logistics parks, 132 trains, and more than 20,000 trucks. The company's storage capacity includes 2.9 lakh square meters of warehousing space and 25 agri silos.
Supporting Marine Fleet
The company's marine division further supports these operations with a fleet that includes 118 nearshore tugboats, 53 offshore vessels, and 37 flotilla vessels. (ANI)
