Iran Missile Strike Sets Vehicles on Fire in Central Israel

(MENAFN) Vehicles burst into flames across central Israel Tuesday after Iran launched a missile strike on the region, according to Israeli media.

The vehicle fires erupted as Israeli forces fanned out to sweep multiple locations in Bnei Brak, situated in Israel's central Mediterranean coastal plain, in response to a cluster-type missile fired from Iranian territory, Israeli media reported.

The strike is the latest chapter in a rapidly widening regional conflict that ignited after Israel and the US launched a joint offensive against Iran on Feb. 28, an operation that has now claimed more than 1,340 lives — among them former Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei.

Since that offensive, Tehran has mounted an escalating wave of retaliatory drone and missile attacks directed at Israel, Jordan, Iraq, and Gulf nations harboring US military installations. The strikes have inflicted casualties and widespread infrastructure damage, while sending shockwaves through global financial markets and severely disrupting international aviation routes.
