Profile Articles Activity

My background is as a computer scientist crossing between architecture and computation. My principal area of expertise is in the design, development and evaluation of human computer interfaces with a specialism in the design of ubiquitous computing technology.

I am a member of the Pervasive computing group at the Open University, set up with Professor Yvonne Rogers. I also teach at the Open University, contributing to courses on ubiquitous computing, algorithms and data structures, object orientation in Java and human computer interaction.

My academic life has spanned Artificial Intelligence, Virtual Reality and large scale urban computing. I worked in the Bartlett School of Architecture doing large-scale graph theory in an urban and building context with the Space Syntax group. While at University College London. I also started the Masters In Virtual Environments (now the Masters in Advanced Adaptive Architecture).

I have worked in industry with companies engaged in artificial intelligence, 3D web, urban transportation and smart growth in the UK and US. I have also been consulting for a number of startups along with running my own startup for several years.
