Energy-Efficient Devices 'Widely' Available In Local Market - JCC
He referred to growing demand for solar-powered devices and systems, particularly for lighting purposes, as citizens increasingly adopt precautionary measures, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported on Monday.
Zu'bi said that purchases are mainly focused on solar panels and their components, including batteries and charging units, in addition to small lighting units, solar chargers, and garden and home lighting systems.
He added that demand for batteries used with solar panels is on the rise, noting that most of these products are available in large quantities from suppliers, with no significant price increases recorded.
Zu'bi also highlighted the continued flow of electrical appliances into the local market, with shipments arriving through Aqaba Port from China and East Asian countries.
He noted that these goods pass through the Bab Al Mandab Strait and are not affected by developments in the Strait of Hormuz.
The JCC member warned citizens against installing solar energy systems through unlicensed providers, stressing the need to use registered companies and obtain official approvals, as violations could result in fines or damages.
He also urged caution regarding misleading advertisements on social media, particularly those offering low-priced or unverified lighting units, noting that such products are often of poor quality and do not meet Jordanian standards.
Zu'bi said that the electrical appliances market in the Kingdom is“highly” competitive due to the diversity of import sources and the large number of traders, which exceeds 3,000 across Amman and other governorates, providing around 25,000 jobs.
