(MENAFN- Jordan News Agency)
Amman, March 30 (Petra) -- The national football team will face Nigeria in an international friendly on Tuesday, as part of its ongoing preparations for the upcoming FIFA World Cup.
The match is scheduled to kick off at 8:30 p.m. in Antalya, Turkey, where the team is currently holding a training camp aimed at boosting readiness ahead of the tournament, which begins on June 11.
The friendly comes within a broader preparation program designed to elevate the team's competitive level ahead of its first-ever World Cup appearance. Jordan recently drew 2-2 with Costa Rica in a friendly match held in Turkey last Friday, offering early indicators of form during the training camp.
Looking ahead, the team is set to enter its final preparatory phase during May and June, with a series of high-level friendlies. It will face Switzerland on May 31 in St. Gallen, before traveling to the United States to take on Colombia on June 7 in San Diego.
The squad will then move to Portland, where it will be based for its official World Cup training camp.
Jordan has been drawn into Group 10 alongside Argentina, Algeria, and Austria, in what is expected to test the team against strong international competition.
The Jordan Football Association has intensified its preparations through overseas camps and competitive fixtures, aiming to provide the national team with optimal conditions ahead of its debut on the global stage.
