Detecting the signs your vehicle gives off early on can make the difference between a safe trip and an unexpected mechanical failure.

This is the warning from Autopits specialists, who stress the importance of learning to“read” a car's behavior to prevent major damage and reduce risks on the road.

Among the main warning signs drivers should watch for are:

. Dashboard lights: These indicators can signal everything from engine malfunctions to problems with the brakes, oil level, or tire pressure.

. Vehicle noises: Unusual noises, such as squealing when braking or while driving, may indicate worn brake pads or tire issues.

. Stiff steering, vibrations, or loss of stability: These are often related to suspension, alignment, or balancing issues, which should be addressed immediately.

. Tire pressure: Every vehicle has manufacturer specifications that must be followed and are usually found on the driver's door frame or in the owner's manual.

“Many drivers wait until their vehicle has a serious breakdown before having it inspected, but most problems can be prevented if we learn to listen to and observe the signs our car gives us. Timely preventive maintenance not only reduces costs but also protects the safety of everyone traveling in the vehicle,” explained Christian León, a technical trainer at Autopits.

Performing regular inspections, addressing any unusual signs, and maintaining responsible driving habits are essential steps to reduce risks and ensure safer mobility.
