Bangladesh Looks to Türkiye’s Governance Model for Inspiration
(MENAFN) Bangladesh’s Information and Broadcasting Minister, Zahir Uddin Swapon, stated that Bangladesh has “a lot to learn” from Türkiye’s people-centric governance approach during an event in Istanbul, which commemorated Bangladesh’s Independence and National Day on Thursday.
Swapon shared these observations while speaking to members of the Bangladeshi community in Türkiye, as noted in a statement released by the Bangladeshi Consulate in Istanbul.
He is in Istanbul to participate in the two-day Stratcom Summit, which officially began on Friday.
“The new government will work for building a people-centric governance and ‘in this context, we have a lot to learn’ from Türkiye,” Swapon told Bangladeshi expatriates, according to the consulate’s announcement.
The Bangladesh Nationalist Party, led by Prime Minister Tarique Rahman, established a new administration after securing a decisive victory in last month’s elections.
Swapon encouraged the Bangladeshi diaspora to “invest in Bangladesh, including in sectors such as education and economy.”
Reflecting on different facets of Bangladesh-Türkiye relations, he conveyed optimism that bilateral cooperation would strengthen and diversify further under the guidance of the new government.
