‘No Kings’ Movement Takes Over Streets of US
(MENAFN) Thousands of Americans took to the streets over the weekend as part of the nationwide “No Kings” protests, expressing frustration with President Donald Trump over economic struggles, rising living costs, and ongoing military involvement in Iran. This marks the third major wave of demonstrations since the movement first launched in June 2025. Protesters rallied under the motto, “No king, no crown, we will not back down.”
Crowds gathered in major cities, suburban areas, and smaller towns, holding signs, chanting slogans, and singing, with organizers noting that many of the events occurred in traditionally Republican regions. “The rallies are a place for everybody to come and exercise their rights as Americans in a patriotic and safe way,” said a co-founder of the movement.
The protests are broad in focus rather than centered on one specific issue, highlighting opposition to Trump administration policies on immigration, elections, social diversity, and military actions abroad. In Atlanta, one sign read, “We can’t afford the war or the gas.” Large marches were seen in San Francisco and Los Angeles, while Texas cities including Dallas, Arlington, and Fort Worth hosted sizable gatherings. In Boynton Beach, Florida, local officials described participants as “very enthusiastic” about the demonstration.
