Israel Issues Air Alerts as Iran Launches Missiles

(MENAFN) Warning sirens rang out across multiple areas in Israel on Sunday following a new missile barrage launched by Iran, according to official statements.

The military confirmed that its air defense units were actively working to intercept the incoming missiles as the attack unfolded.

Residents in affected regions also received emergency alerts on their mobile phones, instructing them to stay inside shelters until authorities issued further guidance.

This latest development comes amid an ongoing escalation that began on Feb. 28, when the United States and Israel initiated a major offensive against Iran. Since then, the conflict has claimed over 1,300 lives, including Iran’s Supreme Leader at the time, Ali Khamenei.

In response, Iran has carried out repeated drone and missile strikes targeting several countries, including Israel, Jordan, Iraq, and Gulf states hosting US military bases. These retaliatory attacks have resulted in casualties, damage to infrastructure, and significant disruptions to global markets and aviation.
