Israel Reports Strikes on Iranian Nuclear Infrastructure

(MENAFN) The Israeli military announced on Saturday that it carried out airstrikes on multiple sites linked to Iran’s nuclear and weapons development programs across three regions, according to reports.

In a statement, the army said that more than 50 Israeli Air Force fighter jets executed coordinated attacks on Friday, targeting what it described as key infrastructure of the Iranian regime. The operations were conducted in three waves over several hours, focusing on critical facilities associated with the nuclear program in the cities of Arak and Yazd, as well as various weapons production sites, as stated by reports.

Among the targeted locations was the heavy water plant in Arak, which the army characterized as a major site for plutonium production used in nuclear weapons. In Yazd, another facility was struck, claimed to be involved in producing explosive materials linked to uranium enrichment processes.

The military also reported strikes on a site linked to Iran’s Defense Ministry used for developing advanced explosive devices, as well as a facility manufacturing a range of weapons. According to the statement, some of the targeted sites are allegedly involved in supplying arms to Hamas and Hezbollah, and included a location producing components for ballistic missiles and air defense systems.

No immediate response was issued by Iranian authorities regarding the claims, according to reports.
