Amman, Mar. 19 (Petra) – Ministers of Transport, Dr. Nidal Qatamin; Investment, Dr. Tariq Abu Ghazaleh; and Planning and International Cooperation, Zeina Toukan, discussed preparations for holding Jordan–EU Investment Conference 2026, scheduled to convene in Amman next April.
During the meeting held Thursday, the ministers reviewed the conference's themes and goals, as well as coordination mechanisms among Jordan's relevant government agencies, aimed to make its organization reflect the Kingdom's investment climate and enhance opportunities to attract European investments in various vital sectors.
The ministers also discussed the list of priority projects to be presented at the event, particularly in the transport, infrastructure, and logistics sectors, which would contribute to supporting economic growth and stimulating partnerships with the private sector.
Additionally, the discussions referred to the entities invited to attend the conference, which is expected to attract a "select group of major" global companies and investors, and representatives from European financial and development institutions, which would enhance opportunities for establishing "long-term strategic" partnerships.
The ministers underscored the conference's importance as a platform to enhance economic cooperation between Jordan and European countries and highlight "promising" investment opportunities, given the Kingdom's "strategic location and attractive" investment environment.
According to a joint ministerial statement, this meeting comes within the framework of the government's ongoing efforts to prepare for the event to ensure "practical" outcomes that contribute to attracting "quality" investments and supporting the economic development process.
