Suspect In Killing Of Three Anti-Narcotics Officers Faces Death Penalty

Amman, March 19 (Petra) -- A suspect in the killing of three anti-narcotics officers in east Amman faces charges punishable by death, the State Security Court said on Thursday.
Attorney General Ahmad Talaat Shahaltouq stated the public prosecution had opened an investigation into the incident, adding that the defendant is charged with armed resistance to law enforcement under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Law and three counts of killing officers.
He said the case would be referred to the attorney general for indictment once the investigation is complete, after which the defendant will stand trial before the State Security Court in accordance with the law.
