NEW DELHI, March 19 (NNN-Bernama) - Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi stressed the need for de-escalation in West Asia in a phone call with Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim on Thursday.
The Indian leader greeted Anwar on the occasion of Eid Al Fitr and discussed the West Asia situation provoked by the US-Israeli war on Iran.
“Spoke with my friend, Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim of Malaysia, and conveyed warm greetings to him and the people of Malaysia on the occasion of the upcoming festival of Hari Raya Aidilfitri,” Modi said on his X page.
“We also discussed the deeply concerning situation in West Asia and reaffirmed our shared commitment to de-escalation and the early restoration of peace and stability through dialogue and diplomacy,” he said.
