Alarms Sound in Israel After Missile Barrage from Iran

(MENAFN) Air raid sirens were activated in central Israel on Thursday following a new wave of missiles launched from Iran, according to local media reports.

The newspaper Yedioth Ahronoth reported that warning systems were triggered across multiple areas in central Israel, including Gush Dan, the Lowlands, Sharon, the Valley, and Samaria, after missile launches were detected originating from Iran.

The Israeli army stated that its air defense systems were engaged and working to intercept the incoming projectiles.

No immediate reports of casualties or material damage were confirmed.

Israeli figures indicate that at least 15 people have been killed and nearly 4,000 injured since the escalation began, following Iranian attacks.

The regional situation has continued to intensify since Israel and the United States initiated a joint offensive on Iran on February 28, which has reportedly resulted in around 1,300 deaths, including the former Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei.

In response, Iran has carried out drone and missile strikes targeting Israel, Jordan, Iraq, and Gulf states hosting US military assets, leading to casualties and infrastructure damage while also disrupting global markets and aviation activity.
