Department Of Meteorology Warns Of Strong Wind, High Sea
Doha, Qatar: Weather inshore until 6am on Thursday will be scattered clouds to partly cloudy at times, with a chance of scattered rain, the Department of Meteorology said in its daily report on Wednesday, March 18, 2026.
Offshore conditions will be partly cloudy to cloudy at times, with a chance of scattered rain that may be thundery at first, the report added, warning of strong winds and high seas, especially during early hours.
Wind inshore will be northwesterly at 5 to 15 knots. Offshore, winds will be northwesterly at 10 to 20 knots, gusting up to 26 knots at times.
Sea state inshore will be 2 to 4 feet, rising to 5 feet at times, while offshore it will be 3 to 6 feet, rising to 8 feet at times.
Visibility inshore will be 4 to 8 kilometres. Offshore visibility will range from 4 to 9 kilometres, dropping to 3 kilometres or less at times with thundery rain.
