SSU Exposes Large-Scale Russian Disinformation Operation Targeting Hungarian Community In Zakarpattia

(MENAFN- UkrinForm) According to Ukrinform, the SSU press center reported this.

As a result of comprehensive measures, it was established that the Russians are using so-called caller ID spoofing technology via IP telephony to carry out the operation.

In particular, the enemy is making“anonymous” calls, disguised as coming from Ukrainian phone numbers, issuing threats to members of the Hungarian national community.

“During these calls, unidentified individuals, posing as members of 'national-patriotic groups' and even as law enforcement officers of our state, demanded that community representatives leave Ukraine and threatened them with physical violence,” the SSU said.

Technical analysis has confirmed that the calls originated from the territory of the Russian Federation.

The SSU is currently working to block this disinformation operation.

The agency also urged citizens not to fall for such provocations and asked anyone who receives threats or suspicious messages to immediately inform law enforcement authorities.
