The Director of the United States National Counterterrorism Center, Joe Kent, has resigned from his position, with deep disagreements over the ongoing tensions with Iran cited as the primary reason.

According to media reports, in his resignation, Joe Kent made it clear that he could not support this conflict“in good conscience.” He maintained that Iran does not currently pose an immediate threat to the United States and that the policy in this regard has not been formed on solid grounds.

Joe Kent further stated that the United States has become unnecessarily involved in this conflict, which has sparked intense debate at both political and policy levels.

Joe Kent, a former military officer with an intelligence background, is considered a close ally of former President Donald Trump.

Meanwhile, Donald Trump, reacting to Kent's resignation, said it is not possible to work with an official who does not consider Iran a threat.

According to analysts, this resignation reflects internal policy disagreements within the U.S. government regarding Iran and may lead to further political tensions in the coming days.
