Army Foils Drug Smuggling Attempts Using Guided Balloons

Amman, March 17 (Petra) -- The Eastern Military Zone thwarted two attempts early Tuesday to smuggle large quantities of narcotics using electronically guided balloons along its front within its area of responsibility.
Border Guard units detected the balloons and engaged them, successfully bringing them down along with their payloads inside Jordanian territory, in coordination with security agencies and the Anti-Narcotics Department.
The seized materials were transferred to the competent authorities for legal action.
