'Nothing New, We're Not Afraid': Zelensky Responds To Iran's Threats To Strike Ukraine

(MENAFN- UkrinForm) Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said this in an interview with The Jerusalem Post, Ukrinform reports.

"Nothing new. I heard during these four years a lot of different messages," he said, commenting on Iran's threats against Ukraine over its support for Gulf countries.

Asked whether he feared the warnings, he said Ukrainians have lived with such threats for years.

"No, we don't [fear] any kind of such messages," Zelensky said. "We live with such messages each day... That's why it's not something new for us."

He also stressed that instability in the Middle East is being fueled by the regime in Tehran, while the overwhelming majority of Iranians oppose war and seek a normal life.

"I think that a lot of people in Iran, really civilians, they want to live a normal life and to be free," he said.

As Ukrinform reported earlier, the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry described as absurd the threats by Iranian parliamentary national security committee head Ebrahim Azizi to launch missile strikes on Ukraine in response to its support for Israel.
