Tom Hartley

Mr Tom Hartley serves as a Lecturer in Health and Physical Education at the School of Education within the College of Arts, Law, and Education at the University of Tasmania. Drawing from his extensive background as a teacher and school leader in both the Department for Education, Children, and Young People, and Catholic Education Tasmania, Tom brings practical experience to his role.

His professional interests lie in student engagement, inclusive education, and the application of technology to support student learning, feedback, and assessment. Throughout his teaching career, Tom has primarily focused on Health and Physical Education, Science, Mathematics, and Agriculture.

In leadership roles, Tom has been instrumental in initiatives related to student engagement, educational adjustments for inclusive learning environments, and the integration of educational technologies. His involvement in Tasmanian state-wide presentations, including topics such as the implementation of online learning management systems (2020) and the integration of Respectful Relationships Education into the Health and Physical Education Curriculum (2018), highlights his practical contributions to educational practices in the region.
