SINGAPORE - Publicis Groupe Asia-Pacific has appointed Naomi Michael as its new chief communications officer for the APAC region. In her new role, she will be leading the Groupe's regional communications strategy across markets and capabilities.
She joins from Omnicom Media where she recently joined its APAC leadership team as head of brand marketing from her former role as chief marketing and communications officer at IPG Mediabrands, which she held for nine years.
The appointment of the newly created leadership position underscores Publicis Groupe APAC's commitment to elevating its communications capability, it said in a statement. Based in Singapore, Michael will report to Jane Lin‐Baden, chief executive officer, Asia-Pacific at Publicis Groupe.
Michael brings more than 20 years of international marketing and communications experience across corporate and media organisations in Asia-Pacific, Australia and UK. She brings strong expertise in integrated marketing and communications, with a proven ability to drive growth, enhance brand visibility and build consistent, connected narratives across complex, multi‐market organisations in Asia Pacific.
Her early career includes roles at Publicis‐owned Zenith in London, The Walt Disney Company, The Financial Times, and agency leadership positions across Sydney, Hong Kong and Singapore within Interpublic Group (IPG), and Omnicom Media.
Beyond her professional achievements, Michael is a committed advocate for inclusion and leadership development. She is a founding executive council member of Pass Her The Mic – an Asia-led initiative to amplify women's voices across world stages – and a Volunteer for Habitat for Humanity International. She also serves on the Myanmar Chapter Board for Pencils for Kids, supporting access to education for children in developing communities.
“Naomi is a leader with warmth and conviction who understands that communications play a fundamental role in building belief, alignment and momentum across a region as diverse as ours," said Lin-Baden. "With her regional experience and collaborative approach, she will be a crucial partner as we continue to grow clients' brands and business, launch proprietary solutions created by and for our APAC community, and bring positive impact to the communities where we operate. I'm delighted to welcome her to our APAC leadership team.” “I've been impressed by the strength and maturity of the Publicis Groupe business model. Having invested ahead of the curve into AI, data, and real transformation at scale, their clarity of vision has translated into a powerful engine that consistently achieves undeniable results," added Michael. "The creation of this role reflects both the scale of growth within the APAC region, and the ambition for what comes next. I'm so thrilled to join the leadership team in APAC at such a defining moment, as we celebrate 100 years of Publicis Groupe, and help to shape the next century of transformation!” Her role is effective as of 9th March, 2026.
