Amman, March 2 (Petra) -- The Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities said Monday it is closely monitoring ongoing regional developments to ensure the continuity of tourism operations and the safety of visitors and sector workers.
In a statement, the ministry said it has formed an emergency room comprising representatives of the tourism sector and all relevant authorities. The unit remains in continuous session and is coordinating with official institutions to take appropriate measures in line with evolving conditions.
The ministry noted that tourist groups currently in the Kingdom are proceeding as normal, adding that it is closely tracking air traffic and tourism activity at archaeological and tourist sites.
Regarding upcoming group bookings, the ministry said current indicators point to a decline in demand due to prevailing circumstances. It warned of potential cancelations over the next three months if conditions persist, which could affect the March, April and May season.
The ministry reaffirmed continued coordination with relevant bodies and urged visitors and citizens to follow official updates. It also called on the public to contact the Tourism Police hotline at 117777 to report emergencies or request assistance.
