Minor Fire At Doha West Power, Water Station Contained, No Injuries Reported


(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) KUWAIT, March 2 (KUNA) -- The official spokesperson for the Ministry of Electricity, Water, and Renewable Energy, Engineer Fatma Abbas Jawhar Hayat, stated that during the interception of a drone, a fragment struck a fuel tank at the Doha West power and water station, causing a limited fire.
The station's safety and security team responded immediately according to approved procedures and emergency plans, successfully containing the fire while technical inspections are ongoing to ensure the safety of all units and equipment.
Hayat confirmed that no human injuries occurred and the incident resulted only in minor material damage, with specialized teams continuing to monitor the situation and implement precautionary measures as necessary.
The ministry reassured citizens and residents that electricity and water services are operating normally, full readiness is maintained for any emergency, urging everyone to obtain information only from official sources. (end)
