Joramco Hosts Delegation from the Syrian General Authority of Civil Aviation and Air Transport to Discuss Enhancing Cooperation
(MENAFN- Asdaa-amman) Joramco, the Amman-based aircraft maintenance, repair, and overhaul (MeRO) facility and engineering arm of Dubai Aerospace Enterprise (DAE), recently hosted a delegation from the Syrian General Authority of Civil Aviation and Air Transport (GACA), headed by its Chairman, Omar Hosari, and including deputies Abdulbari Al-Saj and Sameh Arabi.
The visiting delegation was received by Fraser Currie, Chief Strategy and Commercial Officer of DAE, along with several members of the senior management team.
The visit, which marked a significant step in advancing the Jordanian-Syrian vision, aimed to broaden cooperation across various sectors, particularly vital sectors such as civil aviation and all related areas, and to expand partnerships between relevant institutions in both countries.
The visit focused on exploring potential cooperation in aircraft engineering and maintenance, exchanging expertise and knowledge, and building institutional capacity and competencies. Discussions also covered future partnership opportunities that would contribute to strengthening Jordanian-Syrian integration in these fields, thereby supporting the sustainability of the civil aviation sector in line with modern operational requirements and regulatory standards.
The visit also included a field tour of Joramco's facilities, during which the delegation was briefed on the company’s advanced infrastructure, including six hangars capable of accommodating up to 24 aircraft, and the Joramco Academy, the company's educational arm. The delegation also learned about the engineering systems and specialized logistical services that the company provides to commercial aviation fleets, adhering to the highest international quality and safety standards.
Commenting on welcoming the delegation, Fraser Currie said, “We are proud to host the delegation from the Syrian General Authority of Civil Aviation and Air Transport, which underscores the importance of integration between regulatory bodies and technical service providers in developing a sustainable and safe civil aviation system. At Joramco, with our extensive experience in aircraft maintenance, repair, and overhaul (MRO) and in building engineering expertise in this field, we look forward to playing a pivotal role in enhancing the readiness of the technical infrastructure supporting civil aviation development plans in the region. We also continue to contribute to solidifying Jordan’s position as a trusted regional hub for advanced maintenance services.”
