China Condemns US-Israeli Strikes on Iran Amid Ongoing Negotiations
(MENAFN) China’s foreign minister declared Sunday that military actions by the United States and Israel against Iran amid ongoing negotiations between Washington and Tehran are “unacceptable.”
The remarks were made during a phone discussion with Russia’s foreign minister, according to reports.
Wang Yi stated that carrying out strikes while diplomatic engagement is underway is inappropriate. He further emphasized that it is equally unacceptable to openly assassinate the leader of a sovereign nation and promote a change of government, stressing that such behavior contravenes international law and the fundamental principles governing relations between states.
According to reports, Wang — who also serves as a member of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China Central Committee — underscored that these measures undermine established global norms and legal frameworks.
