Amman, Feb. 27 (Petra)-- British ambassador to Jordan, Philip Hall, revealed major changes to the UK visa application process and confirmed that all applicants will be subject to the revised procedures going forward.
He clarified in a video posted by the British Embassy in Amman on Thursday that the application procedure will still be completed online, but that a new stage will be added: after the applicant receives their application reference number, they will need to create a personal account on the UK Visas and Immigration (UKVI) platform.
He explained that in the event that the visa application is accepted, the visitor will need to access their online account and generate a Share Code. This is a necessary step that they must take each time they plan to visit the United Kingdom.
The ambassador underlined that both British authorities and travelers will benefit from the new system's improved security. He noted that the traditional visa sticker will no longer need to be applied to the passport, which means that Jordanian nationals will not need to leave their passports at the visa application center. This will simplify the process and make it easier to plan future travel.
