Andrew Starner
- Lecturer in Drama, Australian Catholic University
Andrew Starner is a theatre artist, writer, and performance studies scholar whose work moves fluidly between research, writing, and performance-making. Currently teaching in the Creative Arts Program at ACU, he has a long history of devising experimental performance and exploring how theatre can serve as a public method for thinking, feeling, and imagining otherwise. He holds a PhD in Theatre and Performance Studies from Brown University, where his dissertation traced the long, strange history of intermedial theatre-from early modern optics to pandemic-era Zoom plays. He has held academic appointments at NYU Abu Dhabi and the University of Pennsylvania while continuing to devise and support performance work that resists easy categorisation.
