Sybiha Urges Partners To Impose Sanctions On Lukashenko, His Regime

(MENAFN- UkrinForm) Sybiha made the statement on the social media platform X, Ukrinform reports.

He described the sanctions imposed on Lukashenko and his regime as an appropriate, necessary, and proportionate response to the hybrid and security threats they pose to Ukraine and the rest of Europe.

"We urge partners to follow suit and ensure that Lukashenko faces adequate pressure for his crimes together with Putin, his oppression against the Belarusian people, and his stealing opportunities and the future from generations of Belarusians," Sybiha said.

He stressed that Ukraine believes in the European future for the Belarusian people after they get free of Lukashenko's oppressive rule.

"In the future, we will be ready to accept the democratic Belarus in the Lublin Triangle format together with Poland and Lithuania. Belarus belongs to Europe, not the 'Russian world'," Sybiha said.

On February 18, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky announced that Ukraine was imposing sanctions on Alexander Lukashenko, who not only provided Belarusian territory for the deployment of the Oreshnik system, but also allowed the supply of critical components for this weapon to Russia.
