Israeli Authorities Raid UNRWA Headquarters
(MENAFN) Israeli troops, together with far-right National Security Minister Ben-Gvir, on Tuesday entered the sealed offices of the UN body for Palestinian refugees (UNRWA) in East Jerusalem and tore down facilities there, according to eyewitnesses.
Witnesses informed a news agency that Israeli teams, accompanied by at least one earthmover, advanced into the premises situated in the Sheikh Jarrah district and dismantled both temporary and permanent buildings on the grounds.
They further noted that Israeli personnel hoisted the Israeli banner over the compound, taking down the UN emblem in its place.
Aryeh King, serving as a deputy mayor of Jerusalem, wrote on the American social media platform X, labeling UNRWA as “Nazi” and declaring that its expulsion from Jerusalem was now progressing following demonstrations and mounting pressure.
