Aerospace secures USD2.95B engine production contract Turkish
(MENAFN) TUSAS Engine Industries (TEI), a subsidiary of Turkish Aerospace Industries (TAI), has secured a $2.95 billion international order for high value-added aircraft engine production technologies, Türkiye’s defense industries chief announced on Friday.
Haluk Görgün said the deal marks TEI’s first major export success of 2026, following what he described as a record-breaking performance in 2025. Writing on the Turkish social media platform NSosyal, Görgün noted that the contract underscores Türkiye’s position among the world’s leading hubs for advanced engine production technologies.
The agreement includes the manufacture of components as well as maintenance and repair services for 22 different engine programs used extensively in both civil and military aviation worldwide. Deliveries are scheduled to begin in 2026.
With this latest contract, TEI’s total order portfolio has reached $8.2 billion, Görgün said, calling it clear evidence of the company’s strong engineering capabilities, disciplined production processes, and internationally recognized reliability in aviation engine manufacturing.
He added that President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan’s policy of developing the defense and aviation sector as an integrated ecosystem has played a decisive role in these achievements. According to Görgün, long-term planning, consistent support mechanisms, and an export-focused strategy have enabled the sector to develop advanced technologies, compete globally, and sustain long-term growth.
