Jammu Symbolises India's National Unity: LG Sinha
The Lieutenant Governor made these remarks after hoisting the Tricolour and inaugurating the Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose Flag Point at JDA Park in Ram Vihar, Jammu, to mark the 82nd anniversary of the hoisting of the national flag on Indian soil by Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose in the Andaman and Nicobar Islands in 1943.
ADVERTISEMENT“Jai Hind, the slogan given by Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose, once united the Azad Hind Fauj and continues to inspire 140 crore Indians today,” the Lieutenant Governor said, while paying tributes to the freedom fighter.
Sinha said Netaji's patriotism was unparalleled and his extraordinary valour offered the nation a vital lesson in unity.“He believed that a divided society can never build a lasting future. Unity is the foundation on which a strong and prosperous nation is built,” he said.
Highlighting Netaji's vision, the Lieutenant Governor said his advocacy for Swaraj, empowerment of youth and women, and emphasis on industrialisation and small-scale industries played a significant role in laying the foundations of a self-reliant India.
The Lieutenant Governor said Jammu symbolises India's national unity and an unbroken cultural stream, noting that the people of the region have, through generations, upheld the spirit of complete integration of Jammu and Kashmir with the country.
