Wedding Celebration Turns Fatal In Jamrud As Aerial Firing Kills Groom
A tragic incident occurred during a wedding ceremony in the Sur Kamar area of Jamrud, Khyber, where aerial firing turned the celebration into mourning. The groom, identified as Asad, was killed after being struck by a bullet, while two others sustained injuries.
According to local residents, celebratory firing was underway when a stray bullet hit the groom, causing his death on the spot. The deceased groom was reported to be a resident of Afghanistan. The injured individuals were rushed to Jamrud Civil Hospital for medical treatment.
Police arrived at the scene soon after receiving information and arrested the person involved in the firing, later shifting him to Jamrud Police Station. Authorities said further investigation into the incident is underway.
The incident has cast a pall of grief over the area. Police have urged the public to refrain from aerial firing at weddings and other events, warning that such irresponsible acts often result in the loss of precious human lives.
