Govt Extends Anti-Dumping Duty On 2-Ethyl Hexanol Imports Till June 2026

(MENAFN- KNN India) New Delhi, Dec 27 (KNN) The Ministry of Finance has extended the anti-dumping duty on imports of 2-Ethyl Hexanol originating from the European Union, Indonesia, South Korea, Malaysia, Taiwan and the United States till June 26, 2026, to protect domestic manufacturers from unfairly priced imports.

The extension was notified on December 25, 2025, amending an earlier 2021 notification. The duty will continue at rates of up to USD 29.61 per metric tonne for imports from the US, with lower base rates applicable to other subject countries.

DGTR Review and Industry Impact
The decision follows the conclusion of a sunset review investigation by the Directorate General of Trade Remedies (DGTR), initiated after an application by Andhra Petrochemicals Limited.

The DGTR noted that while the domestic industry saw growth in production, sales and capacity utilisation up to 2018–19, performance declined during the period of investigation from April 2019 to March 2020.

Legal Basis for Extension
The review was initiated under Section 9A(5) of the Customs Tariff Act, 1975, read with Rule 23 of the Anti-Dumping Rules, 1995, through a notification dated September 9, 2025.

Based on its findings, the DGTR recommended continuation of the duty to counter dumping practices and prevent injury to domestic manufacturers.
