Lee passed away on Christmas Day following a“series of cardiac arrests,” according to the family statement and reporting by multiple outlets.

In a heartfelt message posted on 26 December, Lee's family wrote:“With profound sadness, the family of Mickey Lee announces her transition on Christmas in the early evening.” They added that she“captured the hearts of audiences nationwide through her appearance on Big Brother, where her authenticity, strength, and spirit left a lasting impression on fans and fellow cast members alike.”

Lee had been treated in an intensive care unit after suffering multiple cardiac arrests brought on by complications from the flu, as detailed in a GoFundMe set up earlier in the week to help cover mounting medical expenses.

Originally from Jacksonville, Florida, and based in Atlanta, Georgia, Lee was known for her vibrant personality and strategic gameplay during her time on Big Brother, where she finished in tenth place. Fellow contestants and fans had rallied around her during her medical crisis, sharing messages of support and prayers on social media.

Mickey's fellow contestants from the show expressed their condolences.
