Vibrant Hefei Through An International Lens: A City Of Surprises

(MENAFN- GetNews) Journalists, international influencers, and Gen Z representatives from countries including Australia, Italy, Kazakhstan, and Vietnam gathered in Hefei for the "2025 Overseas Media Tour of Hefei" event, which was organized by the Hefei Cyberspace Administration and hosted by the 21st Century Media and Education under China Daily, and has successfully concluded. Through in-depth visits, experiences, and dialogues, they discovered the unique charm of this dynamic city.

On the first day, the group visited AI leader iFLYTEK to experience the cutting-edge intelligent speech and AI technologies. Syed Wajahat Ali Bukhari from Pakistan recalled his experience encountering language barriers at the airport, saying that if iFLYTEK's translation devices were available at airports, communication could proceed seamlessly.

The delegation then toured the Anhui Innovation Museum to learn about Hefei's achievements in emerging industries such as intelligent manufacturing. Italian journalist Melania El Khayat remarked, "My first impression of Hefei is that it is highly advanced and innovative."

That evening, the group experienced Hefei's Music Bus. As the colorful double-decker tour bus traveled through the city at night, Syed Wajahat Ali Bukhari performed the Chinese song "Tong Hua" (Fairy Tale), much to the pleasant surprise of the other international guests.

The next day, the interview group visited Luogang Park, a world-class urban park transformed from an old airport. Liang Guorong from Malaysia's Asia Times noted, "Malaysia also has many old mines and railways in need of transformation, making this a valuable reference for us."

Later at the Lord Bao's Hometown Cultural Park in Feidong County, dynamic holographic shows presented the life and values of Bao Zheng. Liang Guorong mentioned that stories about Bao Zheng are included in Malaysian primary school moral education textbooks, and his spirit continues to profoundly influence the people of Malaysia.

In the evening, the guests explored the Sanhe Ancient Town in Feixi County. Manoa Aro Vanona Ramamonjison, a young blogger from Madagascar, said that visiting the waterside town helped her understand the poetic beauty behind the classic Chinese line:“A small bridge, a flowing stream, and a cottage.”

On the morning of the 5th, the delegation visited the Hefei City Library. Australian online influencer Anna Christine remarked, "I love libraries and have visited many around the world, but this is likely the best one I've ever been to."

During the closing exchange session, the guests agreed that this activity had fostered a valuable platform for cross-cultural dialogue. Sherik Korzhumbayev said, "News serves as a bridge, and the media as envoys."
